When working with multiple job seekers, it is very important to stay connected to the people that support them. This workshop focuses on how to work with the variety of stakeholders who may influence and support the job search process as well as job retention after placement. Topics include relationship building and trust, keeping people engaged in helping, turning planning into action and influencing without controlling.
By completing this training, participants will be able to:
• Identify the broad range of stakeholders and develop strategies to collaborate more effectively
• Solicit concerns and perceived barriers and develop a plan to address them
• Develop active listening and negotiation skills to find common ground
• Develop protocols to keep stakeholders engaged
• Each online workshop covers the same amount of content as a one-day, in-person training.
• Workshops generally take up to six hours to complete.
• Some workshops include fieldwork activities, practice exercises, or scheduled tele/webconferences, so it is
good to log on early in the month in order to plan your time.
• After that, participation is self-paced and flexible-- learn when you want, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
• Workshops include a variety of formats: readings, slides, discussion forums, web/teleconferences, videos, professional development activities, assignments.
• Instructors are involved throughout the month to answer questions.
6 CRC credits are available to participants who complete all of the required activities of this online workshop.
