Ethics-01: Introduction to Ethical Principles For Vocational Providers
Overview:

Professionals in human services have a responsibility to job seekers to maintain a high standard of ethics in their practice. This introductory module will cover basic concepts about ethics including the function of ethical guidelines and they how can help professionals recognize ethical issues/dilemmas when they encounter them. Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:
• explain why ethics are important in the field of human services.
• make distinctions between the terms ethics, morals and values
• identify the basic values and the six underlying principles of ethics recognized by CRCC.
• determine the distinction between ethical issues and ethical dilemmas

Ethics -02: Exploring Recent Revisions of CRCC Code
Overview:

Whether you are a seasoned CRC professional or embarking on a new career in rehabilitation field you should know that the CRCC revised their code of ethics in 2010. This tutorial is designed for CRC practitioners and will identify the key changes in code that professionals should be aware of and can apply in their practice. Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:

• explain why periodically revising an ethical code can be helpful
• identify the primary changes in the CRCC code of ethical standards for 2010
• effectively access the standards of the CRCC code of Ethics as a resource in their practice.

Instruction Model: Various workshops include a variety of formats: readings, slides, discussion forums, web/teleconferences, videos, professional development activities, and assignments. Instructors will be available on a regular basis throughout the month to answer questions and give feedback.
