Overview:

This training series gives vocational rehabilitation staff the comprehensive information they need to assist job seekers with disabilities in finding and retaining employment. It is founded on a competency-based curriculum that has been approved by the Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE), based on the competencies developed by APSE.

Participants will acquire the skills they need to provide best practices in community employment. The program includes 6 full days of in-person training plus a half-day workshop on Social Security work incentives, totaling 40 hours of instruction. Fieldwork assignments allow practical application of the skills and knowledge gained.

Attendance at all days of training is expected. No partial registration allowed.

Those who attend all training days and complete all assignments will earn a national certificate from ACRE. Certificate holders will be recognized throughout the United States as having completed an approved training and professional development program in employment services.
