Introduction to Ethical Issues and Revisions of the CRCC Code

Overview:

Watch the brief video below for a preview of the course

Professionals in human services have a responsibility to their clients to maintain a high standard of ethics in their practice. This recently enhanced course will cover basic concepts about ethics, the function of ethical guidelines, and how these guidelines can help professionals recognize ethical issues when they encounter them.  Whether you are a seasoned CRC professional or newer to the Rehabilitation field, you need to know about the CRCC revisions that were established in 2010. The second part of this course will help the practitioner identify key changes that are significant in the field.

After completion of this training, participants will be able to:

·       Explain why ethics are important in the field of human service.

·       Make distinctions between the terms ethics, morals, and values.

·      Identify the primary principles and subsequent changes in the CRCC code of ethical standards for 2010.

·       Effectively access the standards of the CRCC code of Ethics as a resource in their practice.

IMPORTANT: Please note that as of January 1, 2013, CRCC has changed their procedures for how CRC credits are granted. We are no longer able to approve credits directly and instantly. We are working with CRCC to adjust to their new system. In the mean time, there will be a delay in issuing CRCC Certificates. We will provide you with a letter of completion, which you can submit to CRCC on your own if you choose. We expect to have a resolution in this situation by the end of March. We apologize for any inconvenience.
