Strategies in Addressing Ethical Dilemmas for Vocational Providers

Overview: 

People who provide vocational services will periodically encounter situations involving ethical issues and dilemmas. These situations can be uncomfortable and can interfere with the rehabilitation process. This enhanced course will offer participants pragmatic approaches in addressing ethical dilemmas in their work.

· Participants will be able to explain the benefits of having guidelines for working through ethical dilemmas

· Participants will be able to describe steps that can be used in solving an ethical dilemma

· Participants will be able to apply ethical codes when solving dilemmas

· Participants will demonstrate how to work through a “real life” ethical dilemma

Instruction Model:

This workshop will be available for one month, and should take about six hours to complete. Included are a variety of formats: readings, presentations, discussion forums, videos, professional development activities, and assignments. Instructors will be available on a regular basis throughout the month to answer questions and give feedback.
